Alternatively, a choice scarf/choice specs blizzard, flash cannon, freeze dry, hidden power ground/hidden power water set could be used to catch opponents off-guard.
It's a major improvement, and it's one of the best ice-type special attackers out there. Froslass has better speed, dual stab, and better coverage, but it's an arguably worse or equivalently bad defensive typing. Mega-Glalie has better stats, but it can't hold an item, is outclassed as a mega, and is better off physical. Articuno is pebble bait, Jynx has paper-thin defenses and is an undeniably worse defensive typing, Glaceon has worse coverage...
Really, only Froslass, Mega Glalie, and Rotom-Frost are equal or better ice special attackers. I'd go as far as to say Vanilluxe is the best. If it can set up (especially late game), it is the best ice type special sweeper.
