Literally why else would they be focusing on it when all of SM so far has acted like they don't exist? And what Pokemon are Misty and Brock known for having that can already Mega Evolve?

This 100% confirms they WILL be adding new Megas.

What is the Onix that Brock has had for two decades? And how is it Farfetch'd that Misty couldn't fish up a Magikarp in her own gym (like you can in the games), evolve and evolve into Gyarados via rare candies?

Brock is getting a Mega Steelix, Misty gets a Mega Gyarados, the end.

The greatly increased ATK stat more than makes up for it and gives it STAB on Dark moves, while also taking away weaknesses to Electric, Rock, and Ice.

It maintains lethality while greatly enhancing survivability.

Lopunny always had Jump Kick they only added High Jump Kick.

But with it's strongest poison move being 70BP and it's strongest dark move added would probably be Crunch that wouldnt make for a very lethal mega without an offensive ability. Boosting it's defenses with that typing and ability would be far better.
