I'm pretty excited for USUM. I'm happy that we got the new things that we did. It's gonna be a fun game and I'm going to enjoy it. Gamefreak have outdone themselves with this. This is my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Same. Honestly I'm hyped for Rainbow Rocket. I have one ask - to get a UB before the postgame. If I don't, well, I really don't care. It isn't a requirement. I'm fine with my team built up of mons from nearly all regions thanks.

For $60 I was expecting BW2 effort, brand new story, brand new layout of the region, and postgame that's just as good as the main
To me GF is just cashgrabbing with this half-baked remake and I really wish I could get my money back

I used to be like you, anon. I really did. Then I realized I could pick up a romhack or fangame, or hell, even a randomizer run of a mainline game, and get about the same or even a better experience with slightly less polish and a cheaper price tag.

Don't get me wrong, I have hopes for the game, but I have to disagree with your point on bw2. BW2 was literally a sequel story, not a variation. There were also new cities and towns, new areas, a lot more content. Again, I'm looking forwards to USUM and the additions it has for Alola, but I don't think it adds as much to the gen as BW2.
