I was thinking about how Game Freak started Pokemon knowing literally nothing about game development and just made essentially an art concept. It suddenly hit me that Game Freak are the epitome of naive fanartists who think they can just make a game with good art and music without knowing what the fuck they're doing in everything else that comes with game development. Looking at their non-Pokemon releases just confirms this even more, they look good but they're bland as shit.

Game Freak should hand the actual game development over to another company and stay as artists and musicians. They excel in these areas, just imagine what they could do if they combined the areas they're strong in with Monolith or some of the other studios inside Nintendo who are strong in other areas of game development. But sadly we're stuck with this status quo because Pokemon is still making millions despite going downhill in quality.
