Once I entered a trainer battle (I think it was crystal), and it was my magikarp versus his gastly.

Back then I didn't know what moves did, I didn't know why Splash kept failing, so I kept using it. Anyway, I used Splash on Gastly... and it fell asleep.

I thought it was a joke from the programmers ("your magikarp is so pathetic the opponent went to sleep"), so the first thing I did when I found pokémon resources online is to look up the data for Splash, only to find out it does absolutely nothing.

I'm curious if it really was a glitch, or Splash has indeed a monumentally low chance of putting opponents to sleep.

Occasionally when I'm replaying ORAS, a random NPC Trainer will somehow spot me while they're facing a different direction, usually while they're in the middle of turning to face a different way. I thought I was imagining it the first time, but it's happened on every single one of my playthroughs at least once.
The worst part is I can't find any evidence of it happening to anyone else, so I sound like a complete headcase when I bring it up.
