>>35644232I love Yanma and so many other Gen 2 designs; Girafarig, Ledian, Shuckle, Quagsire, Miltank, Noctowl, Jumpluff, Sudowoodo, Furret, Mareep line, Lanturn Aipom etc etc - it's a huge list of great designs. Native Johto Mons stat spreads are some of the worst in the series, if not the worst, considering how few new Pokémon were even added.
So many of the Pokémon are just bad and even if they have decent stats they're usually allocated poorly.

A special tank to combat the overwhelming power of grass in Gen 2? >Noctowl; it's only remotely usable attacking stat is special despite being a dual physical type Mon; it's defenses and speed are also bad>Lanturn; All hp and little else, carried by strength of its typing >Ariados; extremely slow, frail physical attacker with arguably the worst stab combo in the game at that point>Bellossom; a downgrade from Vileplume in spread, typing and design>Sunkern/Sunflora; gen 1 gave us a shit Mon fish that evolves into a very respectable Pokémon later; gen 2 give us the shitseed that requires a stone to become a shit flower>Single stage Mons like Yanma, delibird and Aipom>"Its got 140 of one stat so we can't give it anything else">Too many spreads that look like 65/100/120/30/55/45Great region, great designs, but the cross gen evos couldn't have come soon enough. I hope they continue with regional variants and retroactive stat boosts because the Johto Dex really needs it.
