GAMEFREAK's Plan:
Step 1: Create a watered down rehash of Pokemon Yellow to collect money.
Step 2: Use that money to create a prototype game of Gen VIII to collect MORE MONEY.
Step 3: Use the money to create an "improved" version of Gen VIII
Step 4: ???
Step 5: Profit

How about we don't buy it and wait for the core series Gen VIII to properly roll around?
