LGPE is fun, make sure to play it in handheld mode for full enjoyment. It's not the next big campaign but as long as your expectations are reasonable there's a lot of fun to be had.

You will enjoy it for 20~ hours, put it down forever, realize that if you music wasn't so good and your partner wasn't so cute, this would just be paying $60 for a remake with less content than FRLG. Also, you can't evolve pokemon who should evolve from friendship. But at least the physical split is there.
