HA isnt necessarily it's best ability. Also, we have hyper training now to fix IVs so that doesnt matter.

Swampert, Blaziken, Infernape, Empoleon, Serperior, Greninja, Mega Charizard, Mega Venusaur, and Incineroar have all been viable in competitive at some point in time or another dumbass.

I always use the exact same mons of my playthrough team but perfectly bred and trained. Even if the starter is shit competitively, even if the other teammates are shit competitively, I try to make them compatible with each other even if I had to use gimmicky or uncommon sets. I hate using different mons from my playthrough team for the first game of a new generation.

If you want a competitive team, you can probably run 6 legendaries and be good to go.
This isn’t Stadium 2 where loading ur team up with all legendaries is a detriment.

i pick my first team based on typing and rough role (tank, damage etc) just to get a good balance. Planning your first team for competitive is retarded because there's no chance of you getting good IVs. no hidden ability, and it makes the game less fun.

I don't do this. Firstly because games are too easy to choose my starter by how competitively good they are.

I played USUM with an unevolved Popplio. And it was funnier than these times that I evolve my starter. Maybe I will do the same thing this gen
