The cheeks itself are just weird, it also reminds me of pikaclones, because they all have rounded cheeks of a certain color. But I agree, it would look too plain without something there.

I really like that design its very early gen looking. ill try and draw that in the same way I drew the first one but its not gonna look anywhere near as good as that.
