At $250 nobody bought it, Nintendo had to beg people to buy it and throw useless Ambassador VC junk. Only when they lowered the price to $170 for the regular 3DS and $200 for the XL version did it start selling fast.
Nintendo is banking from the bajillions of 3DS users to adopt the Switch and they've failed to do so, most Switch owners were Wii/WiiU people.
Switch shills do not understand Pokemon fans and never will, much less understand how Nintendo operates their handheld business. Also Sword and Shield looks like it was made for the 3DS and was only ported to the Switch, you can't really blame the Japs nor Gamefreak.
