Entertain my idea about a dumb Pokemon exports oriented game.
Pokemon Tournament Island.
Tournaments take place over the course of 3 two hour rounds in 3 days. The format is like the original Duelist Kingdom arc of Yu-Gi-Oh. You beat other trainers to get stars which qualify you for the next round. You can choose to try and challenge trainers super early, or try and assemble a full team before pvp. Pokemon available on the island are somewhat random/seeded to avoid meta gaming team comps before you enter.
First round is two hours. About 40 trainers drop and start collecting and leveling up Pokemon. Level cap is 20. First 15 trainers to get 5 wins qualify.
Second round. 15 trainers. Level cap is 40. First 8 trainers to 3 wins qualify.
Third round. One hour to finalize teams and level to 60. 8 man bracket tournament plays to determine champion.
Biggest hurdle is the time investment, but I feel it's needed to get the right experience.
These numbers are all general and could be changed. Would you play?
