This is so false it hurts. Meganium on top of a barren movepool. Has poor stats and ability. Same with typhlosion. For pure grass and fire too work they need insane stats. Feraligatr has an ok typing and great ability. The only thing it needs outside of a good secondary typing is some higher base power water stab.

Retard, in Gen 2 meta when it was introduced Meganium was actually better than Venusaur in OU. Only later was it cucked by power creep and more powerful grass types coming in with dual typings and better abilities to boot.

9/10 starters in design. They were made before competitive shit dictated everything and pure typing goes with their aesthetic and theme. They do need to be revamped cause power creep though.

Why do people hate Meganium's design? I understand not liking it because of how bad it is competitively but it's by far the cutest starter line in the game. It can't just be because Bayleef looks better otherwise people would shit on so many other starters.

I just think Meganium is really boring looking. There’s just not enough going on. The two yellow things on her head are small and it the flower on her neck is boring. It’s like this weird hodgepodge with not much going on. Bayleef looks way, way better.

I don't hate it but it's just kinda bland. The only things really going for it are "cuteness" and a herbal theme yet I don't find it that cute in the grand scheme of things because to me something is cuter when it has something else in its design to balance that cuteness against, like Oshawott's big clown nose makes it a lot more charming than Chikorita's flat face with a complete lack of nose being totally vapid.

Fire and water: Middle is the worst. Straddling a weird line between cool and cute, achieving neither. The first evos are cute and the final evos are cool.

I love the Totodile line. I think the Cyndaquil line is really neat but I don't get why so many players cream their pants over Typhlosion. Chikorita and BAEleaf are super cute but I'm not a big fan of Meganium. Overall they all have god designs but are pretty lackluster competetively.

The sprites of johtomon in gen 3 and diamond and pearl were a visual holocaust thank God HGSS redeemed them a bit, also having different sprites based on the original for each version like GS did would've been a great move.
