Yokai watch is hardly even similar to Pokemon and Pokemon is the one who copied a ton of shit from it in Gen 7 and it did it all incredibly poorly in comparison..

I haven't played much Dragon Quest but the battle animations in IX are way ahead of anything Pokemon has ever had, and it came out in 2009

On their own they're hardly something you would consider "copied", but since they all have grown to prominence in gen 7, around the same time YW was big in Japan, it's hard to ignore.

So I'll reiterate, because you seem to have issues with reading:
While most of the aspects identified as being copied from YW have appeared in some way in Pokemon in the past, GF doubled down on them for gen 7, while adding some other jRPG staples that have worked in YW, most likely in response to YW's popularity in Japan, since GF is really "conscious" about things popular with Japanese kids.

The only thing most of these games have in common is the whole monster collecting aspect, they pretty much do most other things differently. They wouldn't really have anything for compfags, but for other people, it can't hurt to see what everyone else in the genre's doing.

I got my copy like 2 weeks after release and even then it was really pushing it. They released it, restocked once, and boom, gone. Probably because of how insanely niche the games are probably due to everyone shouting "pokemon ripoff"

blasters and YW3 were printed in very small amounts. i know a guy through gamestop that said some stores only got 4 or 5 copies of blasters, and only 2 copies of 3.
the general public doesnt want 3DS games anymore.

Alolan Pokemon and Pikachu in different hats is pretty much copying Jibanyan's and Komasan's multiple forms. Add to that Rotomdex being faux Whisper, Z-moves and bigger emphasis on game playing out like anime and you have Yo-kai Watch flavoured Pokemon.

Yes, you can play the story with any Pokemon you like.
In MT you have to fuse your demons because their XP curves get very steep after a few levels, and in the older games they don't level up at all.
