Faggots will foam at the mouth if you try to use the word "canon" in the context of this game, but that autism is neither here nor there. Even so this game is obviously going to associate names, dialogue, voices, and Pokemon (likely starters) with at least some key gameverse characters who lack some of those traits or even all four, namely the protagonists (though others like Silver are also applicable, the name department in his case).
