Normal Pokemon and legendaries are served on a plate to you, you just need to save game, inflict status, throw balls. Roaming legendaries (or fleeing gen 2 Pokemon) were obnoxious because you had a small amount of balls and you had to gey through the entire map.
Here, finite space, finite balls, go nuts. I always catch multiple copies of everything while searching for the rare Pokemon, because why not? Once I'm done I'll have a large supply of Pokemon to choose the best from. Sure it's RNG, but catching Kanga/Tauros/Scyther after countless failed encounters is satisfying as fuck. And then if you add them to your team, they feel the most earned spot.
