Even if they didn't, they'll likely see Switch Lite as an alternate holiday option for multiple games, not just Pokemon.
Also, the Switch has a ridiculous attachment rate so far for it's exclusives. Sword and Shield is going to easily hit the 16 million average of the past first games of each gen since Gen 2. Whether or not it'll surpass that average will need to be seen, but claiming any of this shit will actually make it sell below average is delusional.
I'll admit it selling at average would still be seen as a loss though. They likely expect it to break the average at least somewhat the same way DP did. But if it does just go average that's likely not going to be caused by any fan crusade.
