I give zero fucks about the graphics because 2D was better anyway and I've never given a fuck about the animations because the novelty wears off and sees them turned off to stop wasting my time anyway but it's obvious why people are complaining about it.
You don't get to use something as an excuse for screwing them over on something else and then not have it complained about when you haven't actually met the standards for that thing that people now reasonably expect.
S/S look fine for 3D Pokémon games but they don't look fine for 3D games that are ignoring they're about Pokémon.
