>>39891810I completed the game two days ago and have similar opinion. Enemies hit like trucks while giving pitiful damage, forcing you to use items a lot. At the same time, the story doesn't let you work on your rank until you reach 40% of its length (similarly, you can't do anything on your own in the last 20-25% of the game due to plot taking the wheel). These reasons make the campaign inferior to previous ones (even GTI in this regard).
Postgame just made my opinion even worse. 120+ dungeons with 2/3 of them having copy-pasted music and graphical theme. There was nothing interesting in them since all unique items have predetermined locations and you can't recruit anyone in the old fashioned way. Epilogue's storyline takes about 90 minutes as well.
I still like the game but the experience was so flawed in almost every aspect it's incredible. The addition of continents is nice but there is almost zero locations from the old games to be found (lack of Pokemon Square, Treasure Town and Pokemon Paradise hurt the most). Connection Orb makes recruiting faster but also boring (especially when you consider the removal of random missions). The storyline is funny and epic but also infantile in the first half and borderline cheesy/edgy in the second half. Looplets and Emeras didn't feel bad until I discovered they completely replaced BOTH held items and IQ system. What the actual fuck?
>>39891987>Fuck this game for nerfing standard attack into literal, actual shitGates to Infinity did it first but, to be fair, it allowed the player to make named moves much, much better. At the end of the game, me and my partner had 150+ PP each (300+ PP in total).
