It faded a long time ago, the only reason I come here is because it has its own dedicated board, tbqh. If any other of my liked franchises had a whole board dedicated to them then I'd be there instead. And no, /vg/ doesn't count, it's full of trip/avatarfags always role-playing who never actually speak about the game in question.

Pokemon as a series just means so much to me, its been with me for literally my entire life, i cant imagine not having it
of course im dissapointed with what theyre doing in the new games, but pokemon will always be a haven for me :)

Even though I hate some of the decisions they have made in recent games and really wish they could compete with other big RPG franchises better, I love Pokemon too much to ever bail. A new game always gets me hyped and excited even if my interest has waned a bit. I always get pulled back in. I love the series and have faith that it'll experience a resurgence. One day.

Yeah, probably. Little by little it gets eaten at, and not even for Dexcut reasons since I play other monster games and nobody gave a shit when Digimon or Persona cut their roster to make improvement (Though Pokemon can't really compare in that transition) I still really only play it because friends want me to. I can live with the fact that something that was once my favorite series is something I no longer hold onto going forward; I had my happy memories and I'll always have them, no use trying to pretend it's gonna get any better like a failing marriage.

Yeah I like the core gameplay and art style too much for them to shake me off.

Nah, I love the core gameplay more than anything. Nothing feels quite the same as building a team of new Pokemon and exploring a new region. Like >>40279978 said, they'd have to reboot the franchise into a completely different genre of gameplay for me to actively dislike it.

Pokemon Blue is the first game I've ever played. I think my memberberries are too strong for me to ever leave the franchise entirely, but I've definitely lost a lot of interest over the years due to age and a loss in quality.

these. I don't think I could ever stop enjoying Pokemon until something like this happens. I'm excited for sword and shield because Pokemon still has the good feel of building a team as you play through the new region. I never gave a shit about postgame or graphics. Tho I do wish Pokemon would have better animations. I wish all biped Pokemon had punching and kicking animations like they did in stadium

I doubt it. The official games are ass now but I still play some, not all, of the older games and theres quite a few great romhacks out there keep me going. I'll eventually get swsh but definitely through pirating whenever I feel like it just to see physically how much the series has devolved.
