>>40569117It's not the fact that it was a waste of time, it's more that it was just really fucking boring.
It makes absolutely no sense that their usual 5 minute long monthly videos have more news than their special 24 hour livestream event. Putting in the effort to make it a full day of live content (with the audience not knowing there'd be only 7 minutes of unique footage) makes the implication that there's going to be a lot of content shared throughout.
They only showed the first stage of a Galarian form Pokemon, IE a souped up palette swap. This is literally the bare minimum they could reveal short of revealing nothing whatsoever.
Even disregarding THAT, the stream was just shoddy, even in the context of a 24 hour nature cam. The only environmental noises aside from extremely rare cries or trotting was a short tune of bells. Could've gone with wind blowing through fauna, maybe a creek in the background, at least make it relaxing background noise instead of repetitive little chimes. There's no day/night cycle, which you can explain by the forest being too thick to let in light, but it adds to the fact that outside of the pokemon and the little circles of light on-screen it was just a static image.
This could've been fine as a 10, maybe 20 minute long video; still a lot of waiting that you'd expect, but things would happen often enough to be interesting instead of literally nothing happening for hours on end. Extending this to 24 hours was purely an act of desperation to try and get attention, an action that backfired as I'm sure anyone you'd ask would either think it was lame as fuck or already forgot about it by now.
