Friendship is about becoming close over time with your pokemon. Affection is where you have a spoiled brat pokemon who has to be treated like it's the center of the universe before it can evolve.

They removed that in SwSh, now Eevee will evolve into Sylveon the same way as with Espeon and Umbreon, except it needs to know a Fairy type move. This means if Eevee knows a Fairy type move, it cannot evolve into Espeon or Umbreon.

How long before they change Espeon and Umbreon to evolve via Sun Stones and Moon Stone, like they just did with Leafeon and Glaceon for Leaf Stone and Ice Stone?

Honestly, I wish GameFreak utilized unique evolutionary methods more. It makes the dex more varied and interesting, instead of every Pokémon evolving just by levelling up, trading, or using an item. And now they've started taking them away again. So lame and boring. Why not at least have both, in the case of stones and locations? EITHER use an Ice Stone OR go to a snowy location. I just don't like how samey everything is becoming.
