See, cannibalism is mostly frowned upon, but we don't actually need to eat humans to get an idea of what we taste like. Whenever a wild animal or one in a zoo attacks a human, people say that they have to be put down because now they have a taste for human flesh. This must mean that humans taste fucking incredible. Addictive even, because the animals are guaranteed to come back for more.
Even though we must taste amazing, we can't eat other humans due to health concerns. You'd end up getting all kinds of diseases and issues with compatible proteins and stuff. But eating Pokemon doesn't have either the ethical or medical issues that eating people has. So, eating humanlike Pokemon is the closest you can get to eating regular humans, and they probably taste amazing like humans would too.
