>>42498010>No it's not, there are plenty of flying pokemon that aren't Flying. But do you see the point here? These Types DO all limit designers too much. Sure not all things that fly are Flying, but when that HAPPENS everyone screams about how it should be a Flying Type. Because yeah, it should be one.
When they make something like Venomoth not part Flying Type, it's because their own Type system wrote them into a corner and they had no choice. Flying is a creatively-limiting Type. More of a burden than anything.
>It's pretty clearly the other way around. They make Fairies pink and Dark types edgy, just like they make Fire types on fire.No it's the same thing. Yeah they design Fairies to be pink in the first place most of the time. But BECAUSE they do that, they're now compelled to make ANYTHING pink and girly that Type. Everyone complains about how it doesn't make sense for Chansey to not be Fairy and Luxray to not be Dark. (I'm not saying they're right, but they do say that.)
These Types, more than most others, embody a specific kind of personality and it really limits things in certain ways.
If you wanted to make something pink and girly you could just NOT make it Fairy Type but then people will say it should be one. Otherwise you'd have to redesign it to not be pink and girly like you wanted. It's lose-lose.
