At least in the FGC your skill is recognized even by casuals if you're actually good at game unlike VGC where 90% of the "good players" will hate you for being a random capable of beating them instead of being someone from their cliques and riclejerks, where they will never let you inside as they've been formed for years already, and where casuals will shit on you unless you can win only through meme teams with their obsession with muh variety.
FGC also pays like shit but there's a better sense of community if you avoid the really faggy areas and people of it, while in VGC everyone's faggy, and if you truly make it you can make gangbusters by streaming.
