Are you in special ed? Physical attacks atatck you physically, special attacks don't.

Flame charge- physical, hit by soemthing on fire.
Fire blast- special, hit by fire (an immaterial thing).

Some types don;t deserve physical/special attacks at all due to the nature of the typing. Rock is one of them.

If GF actually had good game designers working for them you would make the trade-off of having split damage or giving the phhysical/special only types either better coverage or give them better throughput to give them a reason to be used.

It should, technically. But I think Rock is a type that shouldn’t have any special moves conceptually. Power Gem or magical crystal powers being the only exception

Not really a valid argument. Vine Whip, Leafage, and Branch Poke all exist and are basically the exact same (last two ARE the exact same). Magical Leaf and Razor Leaf at least have different secondary effects.
