Walls and supports don't make great use of Dynamax, partially because of the limit, partially because of Max Guard, partially because of the effects of many Max Moves that encourage hyperoffense. Dynamaxes discourages set-up by including set-up on regular moves, making coverage more accessible. Battles rely entirely on when you Dynamax and what you do with it and encourages sweeping with its terrain effects and stat boosts. One misplay giving the opponent a perfect opportunity to Dynamax means the entire game is now over, because the frail glass cannon isn't getting OHKOd anymore because of double HP and continues setting up while killing you.
