You can try playing Temtem, but it's shit. Persona and SMT let you collect monsters to use, and they generally have decent stories. Monster Sanctuary is decent, but it's a Metroidvania platformer with turn based RPG combat, not really Pokémon like. You could also try Pokémon ROM hacks and fan games that use lots of fakemon. But I would really suggest branching into other monster collection games too.

Or try a completely different genre. Maybe play a card game like Yu-Gi-Oh!, or go to one of the fanmade multiplayer Pokémon browser games or MMOs, or try Pixelmon. Or be a total autist and try a Pokémon based tabletop game campaign or system, or just do a basic roleplay with other retards. Maybe make fakemon yourself, or actually try making your own concept for a monster catching game.

I really think it's the Pokémon IP that's way more interesting than the main series titles, like I enjoy the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games the most. The only thing I find fun about the main games is Wi-Fi battling now.

Model trains are cool, maybe old school runescape if you like grinding. Maybe get into those. Just search for something based on what you a) think is cool and b)can do for an infinite amount of time. Hopefully something creative as that's the most satisfying, and preferably not anything collectible youd have to pay money for, but other than that it's really up to you to discover what you're gonna get into. You know what you like better than us.

Well, I was into model trains when I was younger. My issue is that once the main story and post game content is done, and the legendary pokemon are caught, I find myself without any reason to keep playing. I like the idea of raising many different pokemon with great movesets that could be fun in Battle Tower/Frontier but I don't really care for competetive battles, or the three pokemon limits if I make a team with a certain theme.
