Why did they stop making trainer animations like the ones in ORAS, where each important trainer had a very unique way of throwing out their pokeball? It was seriously one of the most soulful parts of ORAS, and I don't get why they removed that in SM.

They're still being thrown uniquely, it's just less dramatic. Helps that more characters got models too.

These were honestly some of my favorite bits of SwSh. As bad as the animations for the Pokémon were, these short sequences gave so much personality to the Gym leaders to the point where I was legitimately impressed.

My personal favorite is Raihan’s. The quick selfie he takes-mid throw is such a cool touch that is super easy to miss. Hopefully they give the Sinnoh gym leaders the same level of care in the remakes

probably because there's already a lot more unique intro animations for important trainers compared to gen 6 and they built up a number of different throwing animations that could be used for any character model so that even generic trainers have some throwing animation

This isn't meant as a jab to the other gens, but didn't GoD also have unique throwing animations? At least the important NPCs were unique, iirc. Could be wrong, though.
