3. Indian elephants were retconned out a long time ago alongside the rest of the real world animals. Pokemon are the only non-human life forms.

Again, I guess? The anime never really considers it a Kantomon, nor can you catch it in FRLG or LGPE. Would you consider Electivire and Elekid Kantomons because Electabuzz comes from Kanto? It's never specified that its preevo and evo are exclusively a Johto/Sinnoh thing, respectively.

Yes. Even though Elekid is classified in the Johto Dex and Electivire in the Sinnoh Dex, they are both Kanto Pokémon.

When most people speak about Kantomons and Johtomons and shit like that, they're usually talking about and comparing the pokedexes of different generations, not the mons themselves. Either way, it's not really a stretch so much as it is a misconceptions. Most people group pokemon by the generations they first appear in, anyhow.

I mean, I'm more of a Unovafag myself, but it's pretty nice that Hoenn has all of the Fire-types (sans Vulpix) in one particular area that you're forced to cross at least once relatively early in the game. Only played Pearl, though, so I can't vouch for the sparseness/abundance of areas with Fire-types there.
