If they're gonna repeat species and concepts any ways I'd rather they just do variants than waste their time with some new shitter. Like, really, what the fuck did Yamper add to the table? Glameow? If we need new dogs and cats so badly do something new and interesting or just reskin the old ones.

Regional forms exist so they *don’t* pad out the Pokédex, actually. Masuda or someone thought there were getting to be too many mons, so this is the way to keep releasing new stuff without having that Pokédex number increase.

I love regional forms and they're usually the thing that sells me on a game.

It's good they work with existing pokemon, revitalize them, add evolutions, instead of just recreating the same pokemon twenty different times and bloating the dex.

I'd be okay if a new gen was 90% regional forms.
