Haven't played Pokemon since X/Y and I'll be getting BD/SP next month. But I did want to ask about pokemon transfers. Is it still being done through that Pokemon Bank app? Anything important I've missed out on or is there any event happening?

There's a mobile and Switch app called Pokemon Home now. Only 30 slots unless you pay for a sub.

There's the 15 sub for home if you want more than 30, have to pay 6 if you plan on moving them from bank to home then the 15 for internet. 40 covers it for the year if you want to catch them all. After Oras, sword and shield has the most pokemon you can get but you'll have to leave quite a few in home, and without the dlc there' even less. Could just start from SS if you wanted to without any of that but the new GTS is convenient
