Crystal, I was 8 and had been begging for the games since gen 1 hit the west but my parents said no because we already had a computer I could play games on why would I need anything else, then my dad got into consoles and that opened things up.

first mainline game was silver, got it for my 10th birthday. however my first pokemon game was stadium and I spent all of 1999 watching the kanto anime, collecting gen 1 cards so was well familar with gen 1 once I finally got blue version a year later. enjoyed blue more despite lesser graphics.
