Long time fan of the franchise here that stopped playing after S/M. My first game was Red on the GBA when I was barely old enough to even understand the game. I played every generation except for X/Y which I skipped out on because I didn't like the look of it, and SW/SH because of the cut dex and just overall looking shitty. When the Gen 4 remakes were revealed to be this chibi shit one to one remake with like no new features I just decided to sit it out again, wait and see if a better gen or remake eventually comes along. But the more I think about it, Gen 4 was fun, I did play it and like it. So maybe this one for one remake will actually have some soul in it left over from the original, instead of modern Gamefreak garbage.

TL;DR The remakes are just copy pastes of the original gen 4, but at least back then it had soul. Should I buy or not?
