Though every time the high is a little less, until you're at what would be level 100 in a Pokemon and then there's really no high at all and you may as well just be eating sugar. Some Rare Candy junkies get into melting them down and injecting them to get some rush again, but it only goes so far.
X Speed on the other hand doesn't form a tolerance. You can only do up to 6 of them at once and the high isn't nearly as good are Rare Candy, but as soon as you sober up you can drink down another 6 for exactly the same high all over again. They're also sold in most shops for less than 2 ordinary Pokeballs cost, though Alola and Galar recognized people abuse them and put a significant tax on it. But even with the tax, it's still cheaper than what you pay a Rare Candy dealer.
