yes but its very easy to shut down. bulky waters are anything but uncommon, not to mention ice/steel is weak to about every common coverage move you'd put on offensive pokemon, i.e ground and fighting attacks, then there's fire.

yeah no we're talking about ice/steel, if you switch in a bulky water into weavile it can still hit hard neutrally. I said its the combination of both of ice/steel being mutually resisted by single types like water and steel, PLUS its weakness to common coverage moves.

Azumarill is a specific pokemon but bulky waters are everywhere and if you don't have that you can use a bulky steel type or fire types, all of which resist both STABs.
Maybe, just maybe there is a difference between all of these choices and... Azumarill.

sure but it's not as if you'll be switching into ground safely. fairies, sure. the point is while ice/steel will do well against a handful of types, and it's not bad offensively (ice never is), its also an easy combo to check on paper. in practice it would depend on a lot more factors like stats and abilities but having both of your STABs shut down by three other types is kind of a drag.

This is the main point, we haven't even seen a mon that isn't a shitmon with that typing. It's kind of like tyranitar where it has a shit typing but is still good because of its stats. Imagine a fast offensive ice/steel type with levitate or tinted lense

Aurorus being a special attacker yet being stuck with Ancient Power for Rock STAB in playthroughs is peak SHIT.

99 Special Attack is higher than 77 Attack. IMO, its Attack stat should be lower and the points taken from that should be put somewhere relevant, like Speed or Special Attack.

Because it doesn't take away any of Fighting's weaknesses and adds three weaknesses (Fighting, Fire, and Steel) on top of that. Doesn't help that Crabominable is slow and has mediocre bulk which means it wouldn't even be able to take neutral-damaging attacks that well. Mediocre bulk isn't bad on fast Pokémon like Dragapult, but it is on slow Pokémon, but this is Game Freak so fast Pokémon like Garchomp get to have decent bulk while slow Pokémon like Rampardos have shit bulk, because non-existent balancing in the name of marketing.

Its all based on stats/abilities/movepoll.
If you had a super fast Grass Bug with Spore he would be broken regardless of type.

Ice/Fighting has the potential to be really scary. Two good STAB priority moves that benefit from Technician, really good coverage on STAB alone, it's just a shame the first Ice/Fighting mon was garbage.
