Every time a new game comes out it fucks with the timeline and makes past games feel weird due to the lack of acknowledgment of regions and Pokémon that did not exist in the real world yet, but should definitely exist in universe. Making a Pokémon game that takes place in the distant future would cause the game’s lore to age even worse than the average game.
