I have played pokemon ruby and sapphire for like 15 years but i have neber knewen about this area before

Ahhh you brought out the Gen 3 nostalgia in me. I forgot how expansive Hoenn was. It felt like a real adventure playing through RS as a 6 year old

There should've definitely been a few more Kanto/Johto Pokemon in Hoenn, like Mankey in the rainforest routes or Seel/Lapras near Shoal Cave, Yanma near rivers/water patches

might just be me, but it took 12 years for me to learn that there was a union cave basement besides the stairway up north
and I only learned of that fact yesterday when trying to finally catch a lapras and complete my regional dex

in the kanto games if you walk past the cerulean cave entrance there is a single trainer to fight, probably the least fought trainer in those games

Until recently I had never seen the huge berry field in Eastern Hoenn. It's a side area attached to a backtrack route that you can easily miss just passing through if you even use the route at all.

I found that out in a Nintendo Power magazine from the library
I used Lapras in quite a few of my playthroughs because I was only allowed to play on Friday and Saturday
