I think Violet will be the last Pokemon game I buy for a long time (along with a base Nintendo Online Sub).
Not because Pokemon games are going bad or anything, I'm just going to be a whole lot busier with life very soon.
Plus, games are expensive (I'm in Canada so the above would cost about 115 CAD inc. tax) so I want to cut down on unnecessary spending.
Another thing is time. I've only played FireRed, Emerald, X and appx. 65% of PLA and I've noticed these games take a good chunk of time to complete. I also remember back when I was younger and the only games I had were the first 3 on the list so all my time would be spent playing them (i'm talking total 100+ hours per game) and I made some fond memories.
I thought about playing every single pokemon game, but the time investment and the money investment (for switch games) is simply too much. Maybe I'll play Plat, HGSS, and BW(2) because those games tend to be held in high regard and many consider that the peak of the franchise, but I think I just need to move on.
Pokemon isn't my life. I don't want to look at myself in 10 years thinking I wasted my entire life on Pokemon. Even if I had fun, I know myself enough that I know I'd feel empty and unsatisfied inside.
Furthermore, I've realized I can't completely abandon Pokemon or video games in general, so I'll probably stick to 1 game which may or may not (probably not) be Pokemon every year or 2 years, whether I paid for it or not. I think this is a healthy step.
Plus, It'll be cool to revisit the franchise after a few generations have passed to see the progress. I remember being wowed by gen 6 when my last game was Emerald. And am being considerably impressed by Gen 9 (although I feel mixed for Gen 8).
I also gotta stop browsing this place, srsly I spend hours reading your guys' opinions and it's done nothing for me, no offense.
That was my rant.
btw i'm a cheapfag, not a poorfag. thanks
