I chose Star Wars because it's a well known example but I'm not a fan so I can't judge the content and I don't know if it's a permanent change either but at least for the next couples (not a typo) of games "that seems to be the case".

Disregard the good world building content and stories similarly to how SW decanonized the EU in favor of woke representation Twitter driven bullshit.

Alola actually wasn’t to bad. The lore aspect was pretty fun.

Galar was a disaster and PokeSpain looks to be worse.

PLA felt incomplete, but not bad.

SM did a lot of things better than Gen 6 because, newsflash, XY and ORAS were utter garbage.
Soul was not one of them, though. SM were probably the least soulful by virtue of starting many of the cancerous trends plaguing the series today; from its lack of identity in Yokai Watch pandering to the removal of basic shit like the National Dex and fishing mechanics. It doesn't help that Alola as a region was the first to feel like a glorified one-way theme park whose routes just have straight paths going through them with no dungeons to break the pace, and that was only further compounded by all of the roadblocks being arbitrary instead of something the player had agency in surpassing like HMs, or Snorlax/Sudowoodo/Kecleon.

You're calling me schizo yet you're the densest motherfuckers in this thread. It's not that hard, the main series has split into regular Pokémon/Pocket Monsters (continuity, traditional, looking for the new kids) and Pokémon Legends (expanding lore, a BoTW style reinvention
from the roots Zelda 1/Capumon, for veteran/mature players). They tried this with Let's Go but they weren't sure on where they were going since they catered to a non existent nostalgia for the new kids and presented themselves as too childish to the older long time fans and SWSH being in a weird grey area that isn't innovative and mature enough for older fans unlike they were promised.
