maybe I'm being autistic but supposedly Koraidon and Miraidon are branched off from Cyclizar. But what doesn't add up is that one of Cyclizar's dex entries mention that it was depicted on cave murals 10,000 years ago, and the way it's worded implies that it's depicted as the Cyclizar we know now, not Koraidon. If Koraidon was truly the past version of Cyclizar it would be the one depicted, and we'd hear more about it. I'm going with dreams or imagination.
Maybe not imagination, but dreams. Both the daydreaming kind and literal kind. We know from black and white pokemon can spontaneously appear in a dream world and manifest in reality, maybe this is just that on a greater scale. Maybe that's where the ai professor went through that portal, not to the past or future, but the dream world, and this disk thing is a natural link or draws off the power of these grand dreams to create something that doesn't actually exist.
