serious question: what is it about pokemon that attracts so many autists? be it hardcore SJWs like 90% of the PMD/Nuzlocke community, Chris-Chan types, or just average spergs like you guys, why do you think there's such a huge number of "special" people inhabiting any pokemon-oriented community?

my guess would just be as a side-effect of its ridiculously broad popularity, but idk. shit like Mario doesn't have nearly the same level of retardation infesting its social spaces unless you count obsessive Mario & Luigi/Paper Mario fans, but that's not main series like Pokémon partially is and even those guys don't seem to go to the same extremes that Pokémon fans do.
I'm interested in hearing other opinions- it's a topic that's been on the brain lately, and with how everyone reacted to SV it seems more prevalent than ever, so here I am
