It was cool idea but it felt more like a thinly veiled excuse for more funny boss battles and to introduce auto battles. A lot of SV's story ideas feel like just attempt to justify gameplay elements.

This. It's unrealistic, humans have never tried to exploit anything ever or force their ideals on others. I also have a complete lack of imagination so villains should never try to do anything but lightly shove people and be a bit mean but not offensively so.
