To be fair digimon has always been consistent with it's design philosophy if you look at the original VPet lines they always had monsters/humanoids/machinery type monsters. Pokemon has been consistent as well with different art direction sure but it's always had literal animals, objects, humanoids.

I'm not calling it bad, just not my thing anymore. I'd still try a Digimon game if it was good though, I was going to get Survive when itnwas announced but then it turned out to be a vn.
