He literally thinks he’s a Mew. This is so fucking heartbreaking. I name my Mewtwo, Mew Mew. Poor guy didn’t ask to be a freak of nature. He just wants to be normal. Why is Pokémon so dark? It genuinely haunts me at times how morbid this series can be

I still find it kind of morbidly hilarious that the first Pokémon movie, after a largely kid friendly series, opens with Mewtwo being created, seeing every other clone around him die, learning that he's a copy of another being, learning that he's going to be used as a test subject rather than treated like a living being, and going on a violent murder spree before joining the mafia.
