I didnt read not ranking pre evos because kanto has such little content anyways and some designs are better without them being just "The same pokemon but 3 times"

I still think that even now it's the overall nicest, most well rounded selection of monsters to date. Even the ones I like the least are jist kind of boring to me, unlike most other gens where there are designs I genuinely don't care for.

I guess I just don't find them particularly aa interesting as spearow and fearow, which feel like they have a lot more personality in their designs. I can't say the regional birds are an archetype I ever cared for much but I guess the rookidee line, one of the few gen 8 lines that I think looks quite nice from start to finish and is a nice addition to the series.
