Pokemon games are so fun and the gameplay loop is so goated that the only flaws people can talk about is the games not looking up to date.

Man that's a great way to put it. I've always said like, so what if the "N64 tree" looks old? When did we all decide thst N64 games look bad? They look goated. Once you e played Dwarf Fortress you stop giving a shit about always having the most up to date framerates and shaders. I could never get why people cared so fucming much that there's some repeating tile textures or whatever, because I'm pretty sure that's just common in most all games? But yeah, this really says why people seem to care so fucking much about tiny inconsequential things like that.

I hadn't touched Scat/Vomit after finishing TID, so the Presents last week was my first time looking at any Pokémon game since then, and I could immediately tell how bad it looked.

We've cared about the graphics ever since they said the reason Dexit was happening was so that they could improve the visuals since they didn't have to dedicate their time and effort to modeling and animating every single Pokemon.

The excuse for Dexit was graphics. The graphics were not good. Therefore, dexit was for nothing.

That’s why people were mad. If Dexit had meant BOTW or Monster Hunter GenU level graphics for Pokemon, people could have coped with Dexit by saying that it was in service to this upgrade. Instead, it looked worse on Switch than it did on 3DS with natdex (at least until the first SwSh DLC) and it’s still worse than other $60 games, so Dexit feels like a rip-off.
