OR They don't see the Johto starter as a real trio. Compare the amount to times the Kanto starters or even the Hoenn starters appear together as a group compared to Typhlosion/Meganium/Feraligatr? ultra casuals probabaly don't know they're from the same region.
and that's not even getting into the cluster fuck about what's going with the Unova starters, one regional, one mega, and one...fucking nothing? And Alola has, one regional and 2 fucking nothings, but one is BaraTigerofHealthyMeta while and the other is Primarina who already got the short end due to Owl making it into Pokken and BaraTger making it into Smash, though the fighting games aren't by game freak so that last point is a bit irrelevant.
