He's a Rhyperior, which are Ground Rock Type Pokémon and thus take quadruple damage from Ice Type.

Oh. You're right. I thought Ice Type was super effective on Rock Type. My mistake.

But Rhyperior is still weak to Ice Type, so there's still that, just not to the same degree as I had thought.

Eh...

I guess depends on how you interpret Type matchups working in-universe. With the Ice Type weakness, it's regarding another Pokémon using the Move on the Pokémon to damage, whereas the Pokémon using an Ice Move is different. It could be said, in the former case the Pokémon is being damaged in a way that triggers the weakness, whereas in the latter case due the Pokémon being the one using the Move the Move is safely used in a manner not damaging the Pokémon in the process. The likely factor being what body parts of the Pokémon are even have the Type weakness.
