There was this wasp nest nearby in a big pile of sand, and you could camp the exits, and trap a few of them in a bottle pretty easily.
Hardy little things. Took a lot of bottle shaking to kill them. Drowning didn't kill them all that well either - if there isn't enough water, they can swim for hours, and then just dry out and be back at it.
They would shrug off a lot of household chemicals too. But there was this window cleanser that somehow knocked them out. They'd turn over and start twitching as if they're dying, then stop, no reaction to anything - but they weren't actually dead. In a few hours, they'd start moving once again.
Wish humans were this easy.
